Care Services
At Oaklands we provide care and accommodation for 25 residents. We are fully licensed, trained and equipped to take residents over 65 years of age, and we specialise in residents with Dementia. A pre-admission assessment of needs is carried out by the Oaklands Management team either at the resident's home, at a hospital, at another care home, or at Oaklands itself. This is usually followed by a one day trial visit to the care home to ascertain care requirements.
High dependency levels of care can be provided for the physically and mentally frail. We work closely with the Reablement team and Social Services to ensure that every individual's unique needs are catered for.
Our staff are kept up to date with the latest training requirements, and we have the latest hoists, slide sheets, turntables and lifting belts to ensure that the best possible care can always be provided.
Personal care is provided by our dedicated staff, and any nursing care required is catered for by the District Nursing Service and the CPNs (Community Psychiatrist Nurses). Occasionally, a reassessment becomes necessary if a resident's physical or mental condition deteriorates significantly. Should this arise, a thorough new assessment will be carried out to ensure that the residents' needs are met all times. Help can be given with physiotherapy or occupational therapy instructions. The relevant therapist will visit the home or carry out an assessment at the local hospital.
We believe that the personal touch can really make the difference to our residents at Oaklands. That's why we offer extra services, such as a professional hairdressing service on a weekly basis, as well as regular visits from a private chiropodist and aromatherapist. These services are always incredibly popular with the residents, and we are always open to suggestions for new visiting services they would like to see.
